How to invite a tenant so they can pay rent and submit maintenance requests.
Once you have a property and units set up, you'll want to invite your tenants so they can pay rent online, submit maintenance requests, and access their lease documents.
How to invite a tenant
- Go to Tenants in the sidebar
- Click Add Tenant
- Enter their first name, last name, and email address
- Select which unit they're in
- Click Send Invite
Your tenant will receive an email with a link to create their Domara account. Once they sign up, they'll be connected to their unit and can start using the platform immediately.
What tenants can do
Once a tenant accepts the invite, they get their own dashboard where they can:
- Pay rent online via card or bank transfer
- Submit maintenance requests with photos and descriptions
- View and sign leases electronically
- Access shared documents like notices and receipts
- Message you directly through the platform
Tips
- Existing tenants — invite them anytime, even mid-lease. They don't need to wait for a new lease cycle
- Multiple tenants per unit — you can invite roommates separately; they'll each get their own login
- Tenant hasn't accepted yet? — you can resend the invite from the Tenants page
