Managing Units

Add, edit, and organize units within a property.

Units are the individual rentable spaces within a property. A duplex has two units, an apartment building might have twenty. Even a single-family rental needs one unit — that's what leases, tenants, and charges are tied to.

Adding a unit

  1. Open the property from the Properties page
  2. Click Add Unit
  3. Enter:

- Unit number — "1A", "Suite 200", "Main", or whatever makes sense

- Bedrooms and bathrooms

- Square footage (optional)

- Monthly rent — in dollars (e.g., 1500 for $1,500)

  1. Click Save

Editing a unit

Click on any unit from the property page to view its details. Click Edit to update rent amount, bedroom count, or other info.

What's tied to a unit

Each unit independently tracks:

  • Current tenant and lease status
  • Payment history for that specific unit
  • Maintenance requests submitted by the tenant
  • Occupancy status — vacant or occupied

This means your reports can break down income, expenses, and occupancy by individual unit.
