Renewing a Lease

When a lease is approaching its end date, you'll want to either renew it or let it expire. Domara makes renewal straightforward.

How to renew

1. Go to Leases and find the expiring lease
2. Click New Lease and select the same property, unit, and tenant
3. Update the dates to reflect the new term (e.g., extend by 12 months)
4. Adjust rent amount if needed
5. Generate and send for signature

The new lease will replace the old one once both parties sign.

Tips

• Raise rent at renewal — update the rent amount in the new lease terms
• Start early — send renewals 60-90 days before expiration so tenants have time to decide
• Domara notifies you — you'll get alerts when leases are approaching expiration
• Month-to-month — if you want to switch to month-to-month, set the end date accordingly
